Los Compadres is a popular neighborhood with California Ranch architecture in Palm Springs. The lots here are typically large, with sizes starting at a quarter acre.
Most homes in Los Compadres were built during the 1970’s and have three to four bedrooms. The entire community was developed between the 1960’s and the 1980’s, although several homes were built in the 1990’s and 2000’s on the eastern boundary. Near this neighborhood you’ll find many condominium developments like Sunrise East, The Pointe, Versailles, The Diplomat, and Sunrise Villas.
Residents pay a small Home Owners Association fee that covers access to the lighted tennis courts and dog park which is private. Homes include many amenities and upgrades including newer cabinets, pantries, master suites with walk-in closets, and updated bathroom fixtures. Educational facilities are provided by the Palm Springs Unified School District with Palm Springs High School, Raymond Cree Middle School, and highly ranked Cielo Vista Charter School.
Los Compadres is located between the wash area and El Cielo, north of Ramon Road. Restaurants are within walking distance and there are many activities in downtown Palm Springs. Outdoors enthusiasts love the trails for horseback riding, biking, and hiking. And there are many facilities for golf, swimming, and tennis. Cultural events include: the Palm Springs International Film Festival; the Palm Springs International festival of Short Films; Modernism Week; The Arthur Lyons Film Noir Festival and The Palm Springs Desert Resorts Restaurant Week. Famous parades include the Veterans Day Parade and the Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade.
There are many notable businesses in Palm Springs such as Bird Medical technologies, Colony Palms Hotel, Raven Productions, and the Ace Hotel & Swim Club. The city’s economy relies heavily on tourism with over a million visitors a year flocking to the region.
